Ohk, this is my first post so here goes…..I guess I will tell you a lil sumtin sumtin about myself so that we can be adequately aquainted. The name - Lexi, the place - London and born 20 years ago. I decided to start a blog as just a possible way of expressing myself freely without any major reprocussions for doing so. It seems that Freedom of Speech is slowly (but surely) being eaten away. Also I did want to document my journey as I progress with becoming a raw vegan and embrace my natural hair… by now you should have guessed I am not Caucassian !!!!! :0 So what am I ??? A Black British Citizen with ancestry from the Caribbean, Africa and India. And whilst we are on a cultural topic, I would just like to acknowledge just how vibrant a city London is and commend how accepting and appreciative we can be of other people’s cultures and faiths. Granted, it may not always be the case in all parts of London let alone Great Britain, never the less I must say that I am extremely proud to be a part of such a fantabulous nation. Todays antics led me back to my University campus in search of obtaining a CRB certificate so that I could continue my duties as Student Ambassador. Twas a mighty long journey but was worth the trip as now I finally get the opportunity to vist Secondary Schools and othe FE Colleges and encourage the students to think about continuing on thier studies at University :D :D :D. I probably seem like a major dork, and I have a confession to make.. I am one and proud of it ! But seriously the environment in which I grew up wasnt the best in terms of achieving educational excellence and so I know what its like to want to get somewhere that seems almost impossible to reach and so any positive difference or impact I can make for someones outlook on life would be really fulfilling. Unfortunately the day was bittersweet as I wasnt able to make it back on time in order to get to my eveing shift at Kia Oval and to make matters even worse, buses were not even going into Brixton… but hey everything happens for a reason as I always say. Oh my goodness as I was trying to make my way into Brixton on the bus two masters of ceremony decided to bless us with an exclusive set preformed by every Tom, Dick and Harry in South London !!! =@ Jheeze louise, seriouisly in this day and age everyone who has a mobile phone can afford to have headphones, now they dont have to be fancy like beats by Dre a pop down to your local £1 shop will work a treat ! I tell you, this whole teenage mentality of I need to express myself in whatever way possible without a care for anyone else around you who you decide to inflict your personal taste of music on needs to be raised to the ground. That is all : )
